Free Dentistry Days
In today's world, many people don’t have access to dental health care. In fact, a report completed by the Senate Subcommittee on Primary Health and Aging states that more than 130 million Americans currently do not have dental insurance. Recognizing this, HDC created Free Dentistry Day, an event where affiliated offices help others around the country enjoy the benefits of a healthy smile...for free!
Over the years, HDC practices have helped so many receive the important care they need and deserve. Last year, over 2,500 patients were given free dental care and more than $1,000,000 in free dentistry was provided by dentists and their teams at events nationwide.
"I am so proud of our team and volunteers who helped make our Free Dentistry Day a huge success this year. We helped 100 patients in our community and provided $56,381 in services free of charge. The patients were so thankful and happy. It was a great way to spend a beautiful Saturday," said Dr. Seth Gibree of North Georgia Smiles in Cumming, Georgia. "Without HDC none of this would have been possible! One of our team members drove by the office at 10 p.m. the night before the event, and there were patients already lined up."
Dr. Gibree isn’t alone. So many dentists and teams have helped make Free Dentistry Day such a success these past few years, all with one goal in mind – helping others.
"On our Free Dentistry Day this year, we partnered with another HDC affiliated office, Dixon Park Dental Care and provided approximately $35,000 in free care. Dr. Kim Beard, Dr. Adam Richardson and I worked as a team to make this happen," said Dr. Steven Dobbs of Perfect Smiles Dental Care in Kokomo, Indiana. "I have never been more physically exhausted but emotionally elated after a day at the office. I am so proud to be part of a company that encourages dentists to participate in charity events such as Free Dentistry Day."
“The difference dentists are able to make in the lives of others is what makes this event truly memorable. At our event this year, there were many stories, tears, smiles and laughter shared on that special day,” said Dr. Gibree. “The patients we helped will forever hold a special place in our hearts. We will definitely host another Free Dentistry Day in 2013!”
